Fault Lines represents data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics to illustrate the widening wealth gap between the generations of Baby Boomers, aged 65 years over, and Young Millennials, aged 15-34 years.
The data is showcased through a newspaper inspired. After delving into data sets sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics a strong narrative formed. A widening wealth gap between young and older generations was evident across all economic areas; this being home ownership, household debt, tax transfers, net benefits etc.
This data was compiled in excel and then taken into illustrator where the chart tools were utilised to form the basic forms of data visualisations. Using Illustrator editing tools, the visualisation were worked developed then edited into the publications. This data was accurate as of 2022.
